Funeral Services Announced For Mayor Ralph Scordino

The beloved local mayor died on Thursday at 71. Visitation and funeral services will be held this week.

BABYLON, NY — The funeral services for Mayor Ralph Scordino have been announced.

The first visitation was held on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home on 1225 Montauk Highway in West Islip.

Another visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday starting at 12 p.m. at St. Joseph's R.C. Church on 39 North Carll Avenue in Babylon. The mass will have limited seating capacity. Social distance must be maintained and masks must be worn.

For those who cannot attend in person, the mass will also be live streamed at: stjosephsbabylon.org.

Following the mass, Scordino will be buried at North Babylon Cemetery on Livingston Avenue in North Babylon.

The longtime mayor passed away on Thursday in Cochecton, New York. He was 71.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children and their spouses; Dina and Spiro, Paul and Jaime; and by his granddaughters, Ava and Olivia.

The family suggests memorial donations to be made to The Argyle Restoration Fund, Care of Babylon Village Hall, 153 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702.
