Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island
Go find that heated blanket. And maybe a snow shovel for the weekend?

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island, warning of dangerous cold on its way.
"Sub-zero wind chills likely Thursday night into Friday morning with temps 5 to 15 above zero and wind chills 0 to near 10 below zero," the outlook says.

There are also several chances for snow in the Long Island forecast this week, but late Friday night through Saturday morning continues to look like the best bet for wintry precipitation. The NWS has not released any snowfall accumulation predictions, but Long Island meteorologist Joe Cioffi says there's a chance for several inches of snow.

"In any case the change to rain and the rising temperatures into the 50s by Sunday means much of whatever falls will be washed away," Cioffi writes on his website.
