Severe Thunderstorms Possible Tuesday On Long Island
The primary threats from any strong storms will be wind and hail, the NWS says.
The National Weather Service has issued the following hazardous weather outlook for Long Island:
"There is a small chance for strong to severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening."

There is also the potential for widespread showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon into the first half of Friday. Flash flooding is possible.

Tuesday- A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Southwest wind 9 to 15 mph.
Tuesday Night- Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. South wind 6 to 11 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Wednesday- A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
Wednesday Night- A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind around 6 mph.
Thursday- A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 90.
Thursday Night- Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Friday- Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 76. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Friday Night- A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 65.
