Hindu Temple Members Walk to Benefit Good Causes
Walkathon raises funds for The Nature Conservancy, the Mothers Club and Huntington Youth Bureau
Hundreds of people turned out for a walkathon last weekend at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Hindu temple in Melville. The walk benefited The Nature Conservancy, the Mothers Club of Wheatley Heights and the Huntington Youth Bureau.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Suffolk Legis. Steve Stern, Assemb. Chad Lupinacci and Andrew Raia, Town Council members Susan Berland and Tracey Edwards, and U.S. Rep. Thomas Suozzi also addressed the crowd and helped kick off the walkathon.
