Holiday Event Roundup: What's Happening In And Around Babylon
Even with the pandemic limiting holiday gatherings, there are still family-friendly goings-on to check out.
BABYLON, NY— Although many tree lightings and Santa meet-and-greets had to be canceled this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, there are still fun events going on in and around Babylon. Here are some socially-distanced, safe, and family-friendly options happening this week.
On Sunday starting at noon, Santa will be taking a ride through Babylon Village on a fire truck. Kids should listen out for sirens and come out to see Santa. He will be visiting every village block, the Babylon Fire Department posted.
At the Hibernian Hall in Babylon Santa is also making an appearance on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. He will be visiting the hall at 27 Locust Ave. via drive-through. Families are asked to bring a donation for St. Joseph's food pantry.

"St. Joe's is in dire need of help. They feed so many of our friends and neighbors. Please consider donating a non perishable food item to this cause," the Babylon PTA urged on Facebook.
Ice skating is open at the Westfield South Shore mall in Bay Shore. The ice is synthetic, helpful for little learners and no one will get too cold. The rink is open until December 31. All skaters have to wear masks, and there are hour-long time slots available starting at 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It's $10 per person and children under five years old skate for free.
