Honoree For American Heart Association Golf Event

Events to Take Place on June 11th

The American Heart Association is proud to announce that Martha Stark will be honored at the American Heart Association’s 31st Annual Long Island Golf & Tennis Classic, A Joel Hamroff Memorial Tribute. This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, June 11th at the Meadow Brook Club in Jericho and the Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley.

A recently retired financial executive, Martha Stark has been a volunteer for the American Heart Association for almost 30 years. She has served on the Long Island and northeastern regional boards and is a past chairwoman of both boards. Currently she is an ex-officio member of the northeastern regional board and a member of the LI board.

Prior to her retirement, Martha served as a Group Director and SVP for Signature Bank, providing services for businesses and private clients in the metro NY area. Before joining Signature, Martha was the Northeast Regional Business Development Leader for the accounting firm of BDO. Martha worked in commercial banking for fifteen years before BDO, most recently as a Team Leader and SVP for Fleet Bank (n/k/a Bank of America) in charge of the bank’s middle market group covering Nassau County, LI, NY. She started her banking career at Chemical Bank (n/k/a JPMorgan Chase).

In addition to
her career and her volunteer work for the AHA, Martha has dedicated herself to
the Long Island community. She has
served on several boards including the Real Estate Institute, the Institute of
Management Accountants, the Theodore Roosevelt Council of the Boy Scouts of
America, Women Economic Developers of Long Island, and the Executive Women’s
Golf Association. Her responsibilities
have also included past president of the board of Adelphi University’s Alumni Association.

In 2015, Martha was awarded the Long Island Athena Leadership Award. In 2002 and 2004, she was honored by Long Island Business News as one of LI’s Top 50 Business Women and was inducted into the LI Top 50 Women Hall of Fame in 2006.

Martha attended Skidmore College where she received a B.A. in math. In 1986 she graduated from Adelphi with an M.B.A. in Finance.
