Long Island Work Week Forecast: Rain, Rain, More Rain

Will things dry up for Memorial Day Weekend? We've got the latest forecast.

Remember when it felt like summer last week? Well, that was just a cruel, cruel tease. Long Island is going to get a heavy dose of gloomy, wet and pretty much downright miserable weather this week.

The light at the end of the tunnel: Things should dry up by Memorial Day Weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will be the coolest day of the week, with highs struggling to top the 60-degree mark. Tuesday won't be as wet, and it may very well remain dry through the day, but there's a 30 percent chance of rain during the afternoon into the night.

There's more rain in the forecast Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but let's get to the first unofficial weekend of summer.

There's "much uncertainly" in the weekend forecast this far out, but the NWS says "dry weather should prevail Saturday for the most part, with Sunday less clear." As of now, the forecast for both Saturday and Sunday calls for dry skies with temperatures right around average for this time of year.
