Meet The New Deputy Mayor Of Babylon Village
Frank Seibert​ was recently chosen as the new deputy mayor of the village.

BABYLON VILLAGE, NY — A new deputy mayor was chosen for village of Babylon. Mayor Mary Adams, who was appointed following the sudden death of former Mayor Ralph Scordino in October, announced in a Facebook post that Frank Seibert took over the position recently.
Seibert has been involved in the village government for over 20 years, getting his start as a member of the Babylon Village Architectural Review Board in 1994. He was appointed by Mayor Don Conroy. During this time, he helped to review and approve applications received from the downtown commercial district of Babylon Village for sign permits, awnings, storefront changes, additions and alterations.
Then in 2007, Seibert was appointed to the Babylon Village Planning Board by Mayor Scordino, where he reviewed applications for building permits, change of use or change of occupancy requests and other businesses that came before the board from residents, business and professional occupants operating within the village.

In addition, in this position he helped determine if the application he received kept up with village code. He also conducted parking surveys and other surveys to determine and evaluate trends in commercial and residential districts that would affect and benefit residents and businesses operating in Babylon.
Most recently, in 2015, Seibert was appointed to the Babylon Village Zoning Board of Appeals, again by Mayor Scordino. Along with the other members of the ZBA, he reviewed new and renewal applications that were submitted but do not meet or are in violation of the Village of Babylon code.

Seibert was not only involved within the village as a public servant, but as a member of the community as well.
Since 1993, he has been a life member of the Babylon Village Beautification Society and was a volunteer for 24 years working at the Annual Fair at Argyle Park to help raise money for the beautification of the village.
He is also a longtime member of the Babylon Village Historical and Preservation Society. He also served on various committees including the Fountain committee, the Nathaniel Conklin House Restoration committee and hee New Residents Welcoming Committee. In these positions, e worked on fundraising activities to raise money to restore and renovate the Conklin House. In 2018, he received the Nathaniel Conklin Volunteer of the Year Award.
Seibert was also involved in the Babylon Rotary Club since 1994, including as president in 2004 to 2005 and again in 2017 to 2018. He received the honor of Rotarian of the Year in 2009 and 2010. He also received the Paul Harris Award four times. Since 2014, Seibert has served on the Foundation Chair for the Babylon Rotary since 2014 and as the District 7255 Assistant Governor since 2012.
He has also been involved in the Babylon Lions Club since 2006, earning the honor of "Lion of the Year" in 2007 and 2008. Seibert is currently president of the organization and has served on fundraising committees and the Food Service committee to end food insecurity.

"I welcome Deputy Mayor Frank Seibert to the Village of Babylon Board of Trustees and I look forward to our collaboration with the Village Board on keeping the Village of Babylon a great place to live, work, raise a family and to enjoy."
