For this month's Love In A Small Town feature, we asked Patch readers to tell us the story behind a specific spot in town where they fell in love. For Diana Quereshi, this spot is Babylon Bean coffee house in Babylon, New York. Here's her story:
“Babylon's most romantic spot for my husband and me is Babylon Bean coffee house. From the moment we had one of our first dates at Babylon Bean it was a magical place for us. I appreciate great coffee, and since we discovered the Bean in 2010, my husband and I have had a few romantic dates there. When I turned 30 in 2012 (the year we got married), he threw me a surprise party at the Bean for my birthday, honoring my wishes to have a party that featured dessert and coffee only.
The most romantic time at the Bean was when we had some wedding photos taken there. Sal, the owner of the coffee shop, agreed to let the photographer come in with us after our wedding before our reception so we could get some wedding shots inside our local romantic spot in town.
Sal was so nice that day, as he always is, and he gave us coffee on the house in honor of our wedding day. For a while, our wedding photo was even on the wall (it was recently taken down because of remodeling). The Bean is always a romantic spot for us to pop in for a quick date once in a while.”
