New York Is 2020's Worst State For Nurses: Study
A recent list released by Wallethub ranked all the states in the U.S. to see which were the best and worst for nurses.
NEW YORK — A new study found that New York is the worst state for nurses in 2020. Wallethub recently released its latest findings which ranked all 50 states in the United States to see which ones were the best and worst for nurses.
"The U.S. has gained a profound appreciation for nurses during the coronavirus pandemic, as they risk their lives every day to minimize the spread of the disease," the report read. "That situation is made even more difficult by critical shortages of respirators, surgical masks, gloves, gowns and other necessary protective treatment. It's more important now than ever for states to step up and make sure that nurses are properly equipped to do their jobs and have the best work environment possible."
To comply the list, Wallethub compared the several different criteria comparing different opportunities and work environment. Some factors that were considered in the lists included states that offered the most coronavirus support, ratio or nurses to hospital beds, number of nurses per 1,000 patients and more.
