Obituary: Norman Aripotch, Ex-Captain Of Babylon FD, Dies At 92
The former World War II army veteran passed away on January 7.

BABYLON, NY - Norman Aripotch, a longtime Babylon resident, died on January 7, 2020. He was 92.
Aripotch was a former Captain of the Babylon Fire Department’s Phoenix Hose Company and a World War II army veteran. He also took over the family business, Babylon Paint & Hardware Store, for nearly 30 years before the business closed down in 2010.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Aripotch, née Bell, who passed away in 2014.

Aripotch is survived by his sons and their spouses, David Aripotch and Bonnie Brady of Montauk, NY; Steven Aripotch and Bruce Jones of New York, NY, James and Stephanie Aripotch of Babylon, NY, and his daughter Susan Aripotch of Northeast Harbor, ME., plus eight grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 11 at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home and was followed by a Firematic service.
