Service Set for Catherine F. Townson, 96
Babylon resident was a grandmother and great-grandmother to over 40.
Babylon Village resident Catherine F. Townson passed away on October 12.
The former West Islip resident was 96 years old.
Townson, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was a mother of six children – Howard, Theresa, Bea, Elizabeth, Georgianna and the late Catherine Zappola – with her late husband, Howard.
She was also a grandmother to 22 and a great-grandmother to another 22 of her decedents.
A wake will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home in Babylon Village.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Babylon Village on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. and interment will follow in Bay Shore at Oakwood Cemetery.
