Teacher Of The Week: Dr. Idalia Amaya
The West Babylon High School teacher was chosen as this week's teacher of the week. Congratulations to Dr. Amaya!

Dr. Idalia Amaya has been a Spanish teacher at West Babylon High School since 2002, and in that time, she has not only educated her students but also transformed many lives. Aside from her dedication to being a highly educated, innovative teacher, Dr. Amaya is a passionate advocate for her students in West Babylon as well as for families in underserved communities across Long Island. Dr. Amaya frequently volunteers her time and talents (including fluency in several languages) to help students. I am proud to be her colleague, and as my children attend West Babylon schools, I hope that they are fortunate enough to have her as a teacher one day.
Congratulations to Dr. Amaya! Thank you for all that you do!
