West Babylon Man Led Officers On Car Chase: Police
The 32-year-old fled from police, leading to a chase that ended in a crash, police said.
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A West Babylon man was arrested after leading officers on a chase in Bay Shore Saturday afternoon, according to New York State Police.
At about 3:35 p.m., police said a trooper tried to stop 32-year-old Joel Foster on the Sagtikos Parkway south of Pine Aire Drive after he fled from Suffolk County police. Foster was driving a Chevrolet Camaro.
While the trooper tried to pull over Foster, he led officers on a short chase, police said.

Foster exited the parkway at Pine Aire Drive, lost control and struck a guard rail, police said. Foster got out of the car and tried to run but was taken into custody by troopers, police said. He was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for minor injuries and released.
Police said Foster was found with cocaine. He was held overnight pending an arraignment at Suffolk County First District Court. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree unlawful fleeing.
