West Babylon Student-Athlete Jake Satterley Participates in Dan Daly Cup

Jake was handpicked to play in the all-star lacrosse game.

West Babylon student-athlete Jake Satterley was selected to play in the second annual Dan Daly Cup all-star lacrosse game at the Mitchel Field Complex in Uniondale.

Jake, an incoming senior at West Babylon High School, was one of 40 Long Island and one of 20 Suffolk County lacrosse players who were handpicked for their athletic performance, character and academic excellence. The Dan Daly Cup is a local tradition which celebrates the legacy of Glen Cove hero Sergeant Major Dan Daly, a two-time Medal of Honor recipient. The program provides the finest student-athletes the opportunity to engage with marines, who instill their core values of honor, courage, commitment and service over self.

During the weeklong event, participants worked together on a local community service project, practiced with new teammates and lacrosse coaches and participated in Marine Corp leadership training. As a culminating activity, the players faced off in a Nassau County versus Suffolk County match.
