West Babylon Students Hold Second Annual Bottle Project

Charitable effort will help fund children's hospital.

The Tooker Avenue Elementary School fourth-grade student council has begun its second annual 1,000 Bottle Project.

Students have set a goal of collecting and redeeming 1,000 plastic bottles and soda cans to keep the community green and to raise money for a local charity. The school community is being urged to donate recyclables to assist in surpassing last year’s collection total of 3,000 bottles and cans, which resulted in a $165 donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
