One altruistic action can lead to another, setting in motion a chain of kindness that blooms into a movement. This idea was expressed tangibly in Santapogue Elementary School’s Kindness Garden, a beautiful paper garden of colorful flowers and kind thoughts. Each students who partook in the school’s character education program, under the guidance of third-grade teacher Cara Kerr and art teacher Kelly Myers, made a flower in May and June for the garden, on which they wrote kind thoughts and observations to and about their peers for the entire school to see.
