19 Gunpoint Carjackings Reported In City, Including In Bayside
A group of men carjacked over a dozen vehicles and robbed people at gunpoint across both boroughs, including incidents near Bayside.
BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Police are looking for a group of men who have carjacked over a dozen vehicles and robbed people at gunpoint across the Bronx and Queens.
Between May 22 and May 27 police said 19 carjacking and robbery incidents were reported to the NYPD in both boroughs — including some incidents that took place in the 111 Precinct, which covers Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Auburndale, Hollis Hills, and Fresh Meadows.
In the carjackings, the group of men drove up to people who were sitting in parked cars and demanded their car keys at gunpoint. The men then took the keys and drove away in the victims’ cars, reported the NYPD.

Similarly, in the robbery incidents, the group drove up to a spot and approached people at gunpoint, demanding their belongings, according to the police report.
Although the cops did not give a detailed description of any of the men, they did include video footage from a few of the carjacking and robbery instances.
