Resolution To Expel George Santos Introduced By California Lawmaker

BAYSIDE, QUEENS ? A resolution to expel George Santos from the House of Representatives was introduced on Thursday by several lawmakers in Washington D.C.

Rep. Robert Garcia from California submitted the resolution to expel the embattled Republican from his seat amid the ongoing controversy around his fabrications during his campaign.

The Constitution requires a two-thirds vote to expel the lawmaker.

Garcia joked about the resolution on Thursday, posting a picture of drag queen Naomi Smalls holding the word ?Kitara,? which is the drag name Santos allegedly went by. The tweet?s caption reads ?me to George Santos after submitting a bill to expel him from congress today.?

Rep. Ritchie Torres, Rep. Daniel Goldman, Rep. Becca Balint, and Rep. Eric Sorensen joined Garcia in introducing the resolution.

?There is no doubt that George Santos is unfit to serve in Congress,? reads a statement by the nonpartisan ad hoc group Concerned Citizens of NY-03. ?We urge GOP Leadership to quickly bring this Resolution to the House floor for a straight up or down vote.?
