Temple Beth Sholom, 172 Street at Northern Boulevard, Flushing New York 11358, will be holding its much-heralded annual Bazaar on Saturday- Monday, December 7-9, 2019. Saturday hours are from 5:30-9:30 PM, continuing on Sunday from 11 AM to 7:00 PM, and Monday (bargain day) from 4:30-7:30 PM.

This Queens tradition is noted for its enormous book sale and huge selection of white elephants, antiques, art, and jewelry. Having one place to shop for unusual holiday gifts, at very reasonable prices, is a huge draw. The Saturday evening opening makes it convenient for families to shop together. Vendors will also be present selling designer cosmetics, linens, toys, etc. at inexpensive prices. With Christmas and Chanukah coming soon, the TBS Holiday shop makes for one-stop shopping.

With many charities no longer accepting used books, Temple Beth Sholom has become the center of used book activity in the tri-state area, and beyond. “We are still sorting the massive amount of donations," said book chair Jeff Cohen. "We don’t keep books from one year to the next and still have more than 25,000 sorted, unpicked items, including records, CDs, DVDs, books on tape, Blu-Rays, and video games." The price of hardcover books is capped at $2.00 each. Scanner use is limited to tables, no piling is allowed. Monday is bag sale, sell out day. Early admittance to the book sale is available on Saturday (3-5 PM) for a $10 entry fee. Vendors can arrive after 1 PM to receive a place on our early entry list.

“We have expanded our antiques section to the main ballroom, and have great amounts of white elephants – all of which had to be picked up, unpacked, cleaned, and priced," said Bazaar chair Joy Bobrow.
