Bay Terrace Carnival Marks Start Of The Summer Season

BAY TERRACE, QUEENS — Swimming pool season is just around the corner, and the Bay Terrace Center is celebrating with a kids' carnival.

Commonpoint Queens's Bay Terrace Pool & Athletic Center is ushering in the start of the season with an afternoon of carnival games and snacks on May 19 that's open to everyone. The event is free for adults and $5 per child.

The center will also offer a sneak peek at what's in store this summer at the pool club, which is open to paying members from May 25 to September 2, though anyone can sign up for private or group swimming lessons.

Pool access doesn't come cheap: A membership for two adults and one child is $1,795 for the season, and a membership for one adult and one child costs $1,345.

The Kick-Off Carnival is Sunday, May 19, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. The Bay Terrace Pool & Athletic Center is located at 212-00 23rd Ave.
