Bayside Intersection Getting Long-Sought Left-Turn Signal: Report
The city is installing the signal at 26th Avenue and Corporal Kennedy Street.
BAYSIDE, QUEENS - The city Department of Transportation is installing a left-turn signal at a busy intersection in Bayside, according to QNS.com.
The agency is expected to have the light in place at 26th Avenue and Corporal Kennedy Street by mid-September, Councilman Paul Vallone told the website.
The signal comes after residents complained of congestion due to cars trying to make left turns without the help of a signal.

"For over 20 years, repeated requests have been denied, but just this week, we confirmed with DOT Commissioner (Polly) Trottenberg that this left turn signal will finally become a reality," Vallone was quoted as saying.
"It may not seem big in the grand scheme of things, but this was a huge, long overdue victory for the neighborhood.”
