Bayside Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Receives Life-Saving CPR Unit from Helms Bros Mercedes-Benz

Resusci Anne Training Unit Donation Will Enhance Bayside-Area CPR Training

Helms Bros. Mercedes-Benz owner Doug Callaghan joined general manager Suzanne Cochran and shop foreman Jason Valentin to present a Resusci Anne CPR training unit to the Bayside Volunteer Ambulance Corp., in Bayside, Queens. Cochrane is a Board Member of the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) which administers the CPR donations.

The Bayside Volunteer Ambulance Corp’s Steven Kmiotek thanked Suzanne Cochrane, Doug Callaghan, Helms Bros Mercedes-Benz, GNYADA and the National Automobile Dealers Association Charitable Foundation for the donation. The cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training unit, worth more than $5,000, will allow Bayside Ambulance Corp. personnel to train area residents on the correct way to provide CPR. When properly administered, CPR helps increase the survival rate of someone suffering from sudden cardiac arrest.

The donation is part of the National Automobile Dealers Association’s community outreach program. NADA’s program is administered locally by GNYADA. The units allow personnel to train area residents on the correct way to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), allowing those trained to save the lives of countless people who suffer heart attacks and are in need of immediate attention.
