Free tickets are awarded to each donor at Assemblyman Braunstein's August blood drive. Patch shares tips, warnings and other details.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS - In an effort to combat the state’s emergency blood shortage, declared earlier this month by the New York Blood Center, one Bayside politician is working with the NYBC to sponsor his fifth, annual summer blood drive on Aug. 10.

Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein’s blood drive will be held 2:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center, located at 212th Street and 26th Avenue in Bayside.

Each donor will receive an electronic voucher for two tickets to see the New York Mets play at Citi Field.
