Drive-In Movie Night To Raise Money For Queens Food Pantries

A drive-in movie night in Great Neck this weekend will raise money for Commonpoint Queens' food pantries in Little Neck and Forest Hills.

GREAT NECK, NY — Queens residents can venture over the Nassau County border this weekend for a drive-in movie night in support of the Commonpoint Queens food pantry.

The nonprofit is hosting a screening of "Space Jam" at Leonard's Palazzo in Great Neck on Sunday night to raise money for its food pantry, which provides groceries and prepared meals to homebound seniors and other community members in need.

Tickets cost $35 per car and must be purchased in advance here.

Commonpoint Queens, formerly known as the Samuel Field Y and the Central Queens Y, has delivered well over 100,000 meals through its Forest Hills and Little Neck food pantries since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

The nonprofit's meal program includes twice-weekly deliveries of frozen meals, milk, bread, juice and pantry packages with items such as fresh eggs, canned and fresh vegetables and fruit, pasta sauce and canned soup.
