Flash Flood Warning Issued For Northern Queens
The National Weather Service is warning of torrential downpours in the northern half of the borough through Wednesday evening.
QUEENS, NY — The National Weather Service is warning of flash floods, strong winds and hail throughout Northern Queens on Wednesday evening.
The northern half of the borough could see torrential downpours and flooding Wednesday through 6:15 p.m. as thunderstorms hit New York City, the forecaster and the city's emergency management office said.
The storms will bring 30 mph winds and could even bring pea-sized pieces of hail, according to forecasts.

The flash flood and weather warnings also apply to parts of The Bronx, Manhattan and Nassau County.
Heavy rainfall could flood streets and highways. Drivers are urged not to use flooded roadways.
