An annual Memorial Day event will be hosted Monday morning by The Bayside Hills Civic Association. Get the details here.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — On most days, Bell Boulevard and 53rd Avenue is an intersection in Bayside, but on Monday morning it will be the site of an annual neighborhood Memorial Day event.

The event, which is organized by The Bayside Hills Civic Association, will kick off at 9:30 a.m., and include a presentation of the flag by a local Boy Scouts troop, prayers led by an army chaplain and Rabbi, and remarks given by several community leaders.

Also, a handful of local elected officials are expected to attend the event, including U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY), Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, State Senator John Liu, State Assembly Members Ed Braunstein and Nily Rozic and City Councilmember Barry Grodenchik.
