Koalas, Piglets And Porcupines: 'Sing' To Screen At The Plaza
Families are invited to pull up a chair at Douglastion Station Plaza for a free outdoor movie.

DOUGLASTON, QUEENS — Douglaston families will be treated to an outdoor movie at Douglaston Station Plaza when the Douglaston Local Development Corporation presents a free screening of “Sing” on Aug. 25.
Starring the voices of such actors as Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane and Scarlett Johansson, “Sing” tells the story of a koala who presides over a theater that, once majestic, has fallen on hard times.
The event will be held 7:30 to 10 p.m. “Sing” is rated PG and debuted in theaters in 2016.

The Douglaston Local Development Corporation is a not-for-profit organization that, according to the group’s website, was formed in 2010 by Douglaston residents, merchants and other stakeholders in order to preserve and protect the historical and aesthetic qualities of the Douglaston Village’s commercial district.
