Man Found Dead With Severe Head Wound In Queens: NYPD

Cops are investigating the death of the man found with a massive head injury in Little Neck.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS -- A man died after police found him lying on the streets of Little Neck with a massive head wound on Tuesday morning.

Officers from the NYPD's 111th Precinct were called to assist Nassau County Police Department at 255-09 Northern Boulevard - a short ways from the Long Island border - at around 9:40 a.m., police told Patch.

Cops arrived at the scene to find an unidentified man lying unconscious in the road with "critical" trauma to his head, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

Medics rushed the man to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where he was pronounced dead.

Cops have yet to release the man's identity, citing proper notification of his family, and an investigation into his death is ongoing, police said. His body was sent to the Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
