Man Killed Crossing Long Island Expressway In Bayside: Police

The man was fatally struck by a car Sunday morning as he attempted to cross the Long Island Expressway, according to police.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A man was killed trying to walk across the Long Island Expressway in Queens early Sunday, according to police.

The 47-year-old man was struck just after 3 a.m. by a car heading east on the expressway near Exit 29 in Bayside, police said in a news release.

He was rushed to North Shore University Hospital, where he died.
