This Many Bayside Residents Have Gotten Coronavirus Vaccines

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Nearly 10,000 Bayside and Oakland Gardens residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, city data shows.

Across the ZIP codes 11360, 11361 and 11364, almost 15 percent of the adult population is either partially or fully vaccinated, according to NYC Department of Health data as of Wednesday morning.

That means Bayside's vaccination rate exceeds the citywide average of 10 percent.

The neighborhood-level vaccination data, which was first released Tuesday, indicates that more people have gotten vaccinated in wealthier, whiter parts of the city — even as city officials strive to promote equity in the rollout of the vaccine, amid a pandemic that has hit low-income neighborhoods and communities of color hardest.

Among the three Bayside ZIP codes analyzed by Patch, the ZIP code 11360 had the highest rate of adults who have received at least one vaccine dose, at almost 18 percent.

The ZIP code 11364, which includes Bayside Hills and Oakland Gardens, had the highest number of partially or fully vaccinated people, with 4,153 adults having received at least one shot.
