Bayside Little League Fan To Launch Apparel Benefiting More Teams
Darren Meenan, founder of The 7 Line brand and a Bayside Little League supporter, plans to launch a new product benefiting more teams.
BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A Bayside Little League supporter, best known for his Met’s-themed apparel company, plans to launch a product during the baseball offseason to benefit other teams, who he says often ask for support.
Darren Meenan, founder of The 7 Line brand, said in a video posted to Twitter on Friday that he’s been sponsoring little league teams, including the team in Bayside, since 2016, but often gets more requests than he can support — which is where the new product benefiting teams comes into play.
“All proceeds from that product will go towards sponsoring teams,” Meenan explained. “If we sell a ton of hats, or a ton of shirts, whatever it may be, then we’ll sponsor a ton of teams,” he said.

According to Meenan, he already gets many requests for sponsorship from fans, and this product will be a way for him to help out more teams without getting “inundated from fans with requests.”
In the video, Meenan also explained his connection to the Bayside team, noting that he was born and raised in the nearby Queens neighborhood of Douglaston to parents who also grew up in the area, and that the Bayside Little League coach is a part of the “7 Line Army” — a group of Met’s fans who attend home games, and sit together in customized 7 Line apparel.

Meenan encouraged fans to “look for the details as soon as I figure them out,” adding that this is a work in progress, since he only recently came up with the idea.
He also encouraged fans to comment on Twitter if they have a local team in mind that needs sponsorship — and over a dozen quickly took to the platform to suggest he sponsor their teams, including a few in Queens.

Meenan’s announcement comes two weeks after Crocheron Park's newly renovated little league baseball field was finally completed, and Bayside's Little League's Spring Season officially began.
