New Bayside Elementary School P.S. 390Q Will Include Pre-K

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — A new elementary school scheduled to open this fall in Bayside will include preschool classes, officials announced.

Applications will open Feb. 5 for a pre-K spot at P.S. 390Q, a 292-seat school opening in the former home of St. Robert Bellarmine School, school officials said Tuesday on Twitter.

The city's School Construction Authority finalized its lease for the building at 56-10 214th St. in February 2019, according to an agency spokesperson.

Workers are renovating the property in preparation for the 2020-2021 school year.

All families with children born in 2016 are eligible to apply for pre-K placement, according to the NYC Department of Education website.
