The $14.3 million renovation of the parochial school building was designed by SBLM Architects. Construction started in July 2019.

P.S. 390Q is among eleven new schools and additions that have opened in time for the 2020-2021 school year, even as the coronavirus pandemic delayed construction work, according to the NYC School Construction Authority.

“These projects will open on time despite facing the extraordinary challenge of being paused for weeks and then accelerated to completion while maintaining our rigorous safety and new social distancing protocols,” Lorraine Grillo, president and CEO of the School Construction Authority, said in a statement. “At a time when our kids needed these seats more than ever, the SCA was able to deliver despite this year’s unprecedented circumstances."
