COLLEGE POINT, QUEENS — An off-duty NYPD detective was charged with a DWI after he crashed into a security gate at the police academy in College Point, according to news reports.
Brooklyn North Homicide Detective Michael Jimenez was attending a training at the NYPD academy Tuesday when he went out for a "liquid lunch" with another cop, the New York Post reported.
He drove back to the academy and was arrested after slamming into a gate, according to the Post.

Officers found him behind the wheel with bloodshot eyes, the New York Daily News reported.
The 38-year-old detective was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a breathalyzer test, police said in a news release.

The incident was his second DWI arrest, sources told the Post.
He has been suspended without pay, according to the Daily News.
