Oakland Gardens Woman Accused Of Trying To Poison Husband: Report

The man told police he'd caught his wife pouring boric acid into his coffee, according to the New York Post.

OAKLAND GARDENS, QUEENS — An Oakland Gardens woman was arrested Thursday after her husband accused her of trying to poison him, according to the NYPD and a news report.

Suncha Tinevra, 70, was charged with attempted manslaughter, assault, harassment and tampering with a consumer product after her husband told police he caught her on video putting boric acid in his coffee, according to a police spokesperson and a New York Post report.

The man told police he had started noticing a funny taste in his food and would feel sick and tired after eating, the New York Post reported.

He eventually set up a camera in the kitchen, which he said caught his wife pouring the insecticide into his coffee, according to the Post.

The man showed up at the 111th Precinct station house Thursday to report the attempted poisoning, prompting NYPD officers to send his cup of coffee to their lab for testing, a spokesperson told Patch.
