Queens Nonprofit To Bring Rosh Hashanah Care Packages To Seniors
Commonpoint Queens will deliver holiday packages of challah, apples and honey to Queens seniors for Rosh Hashanah.
LITTLE NECK, QUEENS — The social services organization Commonpoint Queens will deliver holiday packages of challah, apples and honey to Queens seniors for Rosh Hashanah, the start of the Jewish new year.
Commonpoint Queens is looking for volunteers to help with the deliveries Sunday to seniors living across the borough. Volunteers will pick up the holiday care packages at the Sam Field Center in Little Neck and make five deliveries each.
The volunteer event kicks off with a virtual welcome meeting at 10:45 a.m., followed by a virtual tour of the Queens County Farm Museum's apiary, where its honeybees are kept.
