Adult Book Club: Wildlife Center Hosts Free 'Novel Nights'
The next discussion centers on Lisa See's "The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane."

DOUGLASTON, QUEENS — Douglaston residents looking to add to their summer reading list can find such opportunity in Alley Pond Environmental Center’s Novel Nights, a monthly Wednesday-night book club open to adults.
The next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 16. Participants will discuss “The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane” by New York Times bestselling author Lisa See. The novel explores the lives of a Chinese mother and her daughter after the latter is adopted by an American couple.
A second discussion takes place Sept. 20, centered on Amor Towles’ “A Gentleman in Moscow.” Towles, also a New York Times bestselling author, tells the story of a man who is ordered to spend the rest of his life inside a luxury hotel.
