BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Queensborough Community College officially has a new president, ending a two-year-long search process.

The City University of New York board of trustees voted Monday to appoint Dr. Christine Mangino, the provost and vice president for academic affairs at Hostos Community College in The Bronx, as the Bayside college's next president.

Mangino will replace Dr. Timothy G. Lynch, who has served as interim president since former Queensborough Community College President Diane B. Call retired in 2018.

Mangino has spent the last 16 years working at Hostos Community College, which is also part of the CUNY network, starting as an assistant professor of early childhood education and working her way up to department chair.

As provost, Mangino oversaw a $45 million budget and was in charge of 182 full-time faculty members and 350 part-time faculty across 10 academic departments, according to a news release.

She will assume her new post Aug. 17.
