Summer Movies In The Park: Crocheron Park To Host Free Screenings
"Space Jam" and "A Bug's Life" are scheduled for August.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Summer movies are abound this August, with an entire lineup announced by the city Parks Department — and they’re all free to see.

Crocheron Park is the place to be on Aug. 4 for a free showing of 1996’s “Space Jam,” rated PG. Featuring Michael Jordan and Bill Murray, the movie centers on a retired superstar basketball player who becomes embroiled in events involving Bugs Bunny and the fate of the Looney Tunes.
A week later, on Aug. 11, residents can catch “A Bug’s Life (1998), rated G. A Misfit ant seeks “warriors” to help save his colony from greedy, bullying grasshoppers and recruits an oddball bunch of willing insects. Both films are scheduled to show at 7:30 p.m. between 35th Avenue and the Cross Island Parkway.
