2-Alarm Fire In Bed-Stuy Home Leaves 1 Dead: FDNY

The fire broke out just before 6:30 a.m. on Pulaski Street and took more than 100 firefighters to extinguish, officials said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — One person was killed after a fire broke out in a home in Bed-Stuy on Wednesday morning, according to officials.

The fire broke out in the multi-family home on Pulaski Street near Nostrand Avenue around 6:21 a.m., FDNY officials said.

It quickly escalated to a two-alarm fire just 10 minutes later, bringing 25 FDNY units and 106 members to the four-story building, officials said.

One person was declared dead, officials said. Their identity was not immediately released.

The fire was placed under control at 7:11 a.m., according to the FDNY.
