Hate Crimes Unit Investigates Attack On Jewish Man In Bed-Stuy
A man punched, threw a piece of furniture and made anti-Jewish statements at the man as he walked down the street, police said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating an attack on a Jewish man in Bed-Stuy, according to police.
The 25-year-old man, dressed in traditional Jewish garb, was walking down Martin Luther King Jr. Place around 11:30 a.m. on Monday when another man came up, made an "anti-Jewish statement" and punched the Jewish man in the chest, police said.
The attacker then took a broken piece of furniture and threw it at the man, hitting him in the back, police said.

The suspect is caught on surveillance video picking up the piece of furniture after slamming down an object sitting on the side of the road onto the sidewalk, video shows.
The Jewish man refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
