77-Year-Old Dies After Getting Hit Crossing Street In Brooklyn

The woman was sent to the hospital Friday after she was hit crossing Dekalb Avenue, police said. She died a day later.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A 77-year-old woman has died after getting hit by a car crossing the street in Bushwick on Friday, police said.

The woman was crossing a crosswalk on Dekalb Avenue near Irving Avenue around 6:45 p.m. when she was hit by a 29-year-old that was driven this Honda east on Dekalb, police said.

She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, but succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, according to police.

The driver stayed at the scene of the crash, police said. The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad.
