Bed-Stuy Coronavirus Rates Dip Below 1 Percent: Data
The neighborhood's five ZIP codes all went under a 1 percent seven-day positivity rate this week as citywide numbers plunge, data shows.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — As coronavirus numbers across the city plunge, all of Bed-Stuy's ZIP codes have finally reached a less than 1 percent positivity rate for the virus, data shows.
The last of the five ZIP codes that cover Bed-Stuy dipped below a 1 percent seven-day average rate Wednesday after hovering just above the milestone for at least a week, city data shows.
The low rates come as the city reaches its own milestones in fighting back the virus. On Thursday, the overall seven-day average rate was 0.83 percent, the lowest it's been since the pandemic began, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Parts of Bed-Stuy, which have struggled with vaccine distribution, are among the last ZIP codes in the borough to fall below 1 percent.
Areas like Park Slope or nearby Prospect Heights have been below a 1 percent coronavirus positivity rate for weeks. On Thursday, Park Slope's 11217 ZIP code had the lowest positivity rate in the entire city at 0.08 percent, data shows.

In Bed-Stuy, the lowest positivity rate is found in 11205, which also includes parts of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. There, the seven-day average was 0.45 percent as of Thursday.
