Bed-Stuy Public 'School Crawl' Gives Peek In Neighborhood's Classrooms

Eight public schools in Bedford-Stuyvesant will host open houses on June 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — It’s going to be much more educational than a pub crawl — eight Bed-Stuy public schools will host a “school crawl” on Saturday to allow the neighborhood’s families to check out local options for their kids’ educations.

The crawl begins at the Brooklyn School District 19 office at 1010 Lafayette Ave. on June 3 at 10 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m.

During that time, families will get a chance to meet the faculty and engage in family-friendly activities at the following schools:

M.S. 57 Whitelaw Reid

P.S. 81 Thaddeus Stevens

M.S. 681 Madiba Prep

Participants will also earn coupons to dine at discounted rates in several neighborhood restaurants.
