BROOKLYN, NY — Police are asking the public's help to find the car involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Brooklyn.

The NYPD released photos over the weekend of a Nissan Altima that they say is connected to the March 12 crash, which killed 38-year-old Oscar Holford as he was crossing Shepard Avenue.

Holford, an MTA bus driver who lived in Manhattan, had been walking across the street near Pitkin Avenue around 10:15 p.m. when he was hit by a white vehicle, according to police. He died two days later at Brookdale Hospital.

The car, shown in surveillance video, kept driving after the crash. Police say it made a left on Linwood Street, turned onto Dumont Avenue and then made a right turn onto an unknown street before disappearing from view.

They have released two photos of the car:

The crash was at least the third fatal hit-and-run in Brooklyn in the last few weeks.

Another fatal crash in Red Hook recently prompted renewed calls for safety improvements to the street. Also in late February, 6-year-old Shimon Fried was hit and killed just outside his home in South Williamsburg by a school bus.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
