This Dog Was Found Tied Up For Days In Bed-Stuy

4-year-old Saint was taken to the Brooklyn animal shelter, where his life is in danger.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A brown and white 4-year-old pit bull was found tied to a fence in Bed-Stuy, where he had been for days, according to one resident. He was taken to the 81st precinct building. The pup, now named Saint, was transported to the Brooklyn Animal Care Center, where he is looking for his forever home.

The Brooklyn Animal Care center does not save every dog that comes in through its doors. Saint is in constant danger of being put in the at-risk list, the shelter's list of dogs that are set to be euthanized.

Here are some other dogs looking for their forever homes at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center:

Patches

Spayed female, 8 years old, 74 pounds.

A shelter volunteer writes: Somebody pinch me! Patches walked out of a dream and right into every heart that crosses her path. She is chubby and arthritic, but I don't think there's a pair of kinder eyes or cuter markings. She seems housebroken, and we're told she is gentle with children and well-behaved when left alone. She is super easy to connect with, seems to be an expert at making lemonade out of lemons, and eagerly gives gentle kisses. She loves treats, and gets vocal when she knows she's earned one (she knows basic commands) and I'm taking too long. She lights up at the sight of a tennis ball, and there's no stopping her playful spirit. She lies down after fetching it a few times, chews and paws at it, then let's me know that we can't let her aching body get in the way of a good time: she pushes the ball towards me with her nose and urges me to throw it back to her (and repeat!) -- her tail wagging behind her outstretched legs all the while. She is impossibly charming, endearing and SWEET and if I didn't feel her tongue kissing my hand or hear the thud of her wagging tail when I go to touch her I would say that I was seeing things! Please come to Brooklyn ACC, have the most warm fuzzy feelings you've ever felt, and make Patches part of your world (she deserves to be the center of it)!

Seymour

Neutered male, 4 years old, 42 pounds.

A volunteer writes: Sunny, smiling Seymour! Stroll down the row of kennels where this showstopping boy is housed, and he'll greet me with a grin, a quick-footed little dance, and I know what he wants -- a walk. Seymour expertly dips his head to catch the leash, and he's bubbling with life, like a kid at a carnival! He minds his manners on the leash, is friendly to all passersby, tolerates noise; and even when other dogs are rude to him, he stays cool, never returning any aggression, just avoiding disturbances. This boy's a gorgeous rich brindle color with glowing dark eyes, and trimly built, just right, not at all chunky. TOO CUTE: If you scratch him above his tail, he immediately flounces over on his back, all four paws in the air, squirming for you to rub his belly! Sweet Seymour is hungry to love and be loved, so how about come meet him, and see how wonderful he can be?

Another volunteer writes: Seymour is total catch! How he is not scooped up already I have no idea. All the staff and volunteers adore him. He is so friendly and easy-going. He's very energetic and playful, yet good on the leash and pays close attention to his handler. And he's simply gorgeous! I remember when he came in, he was skin and bones (still happy though) but now he is a healthy weight and his beautiful brindle coat has gotten thick and soft and it actually gleams in the sun. He looks like he's some sort of hound mix--he's really quite stunning. Seymour is house trained, sits politely for treats, and is super affectionate. This guy is the whole package!

Skittles

Spayed female, 8 months old, 40 pounds.

A volunteer writes: As you can see from her photo and videos, Skittles is a typical puppy: full of joy, energy, and affection she's ready to share with any and all living things around her! Skittles loves to jump up and try to kiss and play with her people (she could use a bit of puppy training), and loves to play fetch-- even though she's still learning that part about bringing the ball back. :) Besides having the cutest underbite in the world and the sweetest little wiggly body that can't wait to come see you, Skittles has an exuberant and magnetic personality. She brightens up when she sees a new person or potential doggie playmate, and would love to have a new family or owner who can give her the playtime, love, and affection she needs. If you've been looking for a fun puppy who you can help train and bond with for life, come and meet Skittles at the Brooklyn ACC today!
