Free Back-to-School Bed-Stuy Bikes Event This Sunday

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Gather the whole family and head over to Marcy Playground this weekend for a special back-to-school edition of the weekly Bed-Stuy Bikes! event.

The gathering is being hosted by the community development non-profit Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation and all activities are free. Here's the details from the organizers:

Marcy Playground | 753 Myrtle Avenue

Sunday, August 28th

10:00 am - 2:00 pm

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Backpacks and School Supplies Provided by Fidelis Care (Child and parent or legal guardian must be present, supplies limited, first-come, first-served)

11:00 am - 1:00 p.m. Bike Safety Basics Class Hosted by Bike New York (bring your own bike to participate)

12:30 p.m. - 1:30 pm: Tennis Instructions Hosted by Kings Country Tennis League

12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. 10km Bike Tour Hosted by Transporation Alternatives (Bring your own bike, or borrow a free Citi Bike (16+)

1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. 3km Bike Tours Hosted by Woodhull Medical Center (Bring your own bike, or borrow a free Citi Bike (16+)

Health Screenings by Interfaith Medical Center, Woodhull Medical Center

Free Influenza Shots!

Organizers are also planning to offer free face painting, arts and crafts, cooking demos, live DJ music, and giveaways.
