BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A manhole fire near the Bed-Stuy border evacuated two buildings and cut power for an entire block on Friday morning.

Firefighters rushed to 1000 Hancock St. —which sits less than a block from Bed-Stuy near Broadway — just before 9 a.m. for a smoking manhole, according to fire officials.

By 11:20 a.m., power was out throughout the entire block, an FDNY spokesperson said.
