NYPD Fatally Shoot Man Who Hurt 3 Others At BK Liquor Store: Cops
The man, who police say raised his gun at officers, had just shot three people at a liquor store on Halsey Street, according to police.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police chasing a man from a liquor store shooting in Brooklyn on Thursday night fatally shot the suspect after he pointed the gun at officers, according to the NYPD.
The officers, part of a Public Safety Team in the 83rd Precinct, had found three people shot near a Halsey Street liquor store after hearing gunshots around 10:30 p.m., Chief of Patrol Juanita Holmes said at a press conference.
"The officers were informed that an armed man fled the scene on foot, turning west onto Wilson Avenue," Holmes said. "The officers immediately gave chase."

Moments later, the officers saw the gunman crouched on the sidewalk on Wilson Avenue, holding a gun in his left hand, Holmes said.
The cops told the man to drop the gun, but instead he raised it and pointed it at the police, according to Holmes.

The officers shot at the man, hitting him. He was taken to Wyckoff Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Holmes said.
The officers were also taken to the hospital for observation. The three people who were shot on Halsey Street are also being treated at nearby hospitals, police said.
The gunman's firearm was recovered from the scene, police said. Three other guns were also found near the liquor store shooting, according to Holmes.
This incident is being investigated by the NYPD's Force Investigation unit and the Detective Bureau.
